For Memorial Day weekend, we all headed out to Sun Lakes for the first camping trip of the summer. Lucky for us, we found the only sun in Washington last weekend at the Sun Lakes State Park/Resort. The weather was in the high 60's - low 70's, the sun was warm and there was a nice breeze to keep most the bugs away.
We went with some of our friends and had a ton of fun, there is so much to do at the State Park and we had our boat too so we could get out on the water. The best park about the campground is that each site backs up to a open grass field that you share with about 15 other sites. It was a great (clean) place for the kids to play and nice extension of the 3 sites that we had.
This was the first time that we have gone camping since Hailey was 10 months old. We never made it out last year and she just had the time of her life, she has been asking to go again since the moment we headed home. As we pulled away, she states "I had a fun time, can we go again?"
Here are some picks and a quick run down of our fun time with the Mendonca's, (Mike, Stephanie, Genny, and Madison) Jake, Jeff and Megan. We have decided it will be a yearly tradition so anyone up to joining us next year is more than welcome!

The windmills were a huge highlight of the car ride over, she was very interested in them on the way there and on the way home.

We ate really good!

Used our new camp chair!

Walked around and looked a the scenery

Used Daddy as a jungle jim

Played in the dirt with sticks

Fished with our new Barbie fishing pole from Daddy - didn't catch anything but the butterfly was a great toy to drop in the water and reel up.

we read and lounged - thanks Megan for the use of your cot :)

It was warm enough for swim suits, beach and sand in the middle of the day

We refused to let Mommy get a good smiley pick of all 3 of us

Learned out to roast marshmallows and pop corn over a camp fire - we were very safe, but Mommy was paranoid that someone was going to land in the fire

We had a great time on the boat

Stephanie, Maddy and Genny

Maddy and her Daddy, Mike (This was the first time Maddy had been on a boat, she was a bit nervous, but after about 2 minutes, she started giggling and laughting, the next thing I hear is "I am having the best time of my life" at the top of her lungs and Greg is doing circles in the lake to cause waves for the jet skiiers. :)

Finally almost let Mommy win in her attempt for a group shot

The family

Playing on the toys at a very COOL park with toys that we have never seen before

Then Mommy got the best idea to fill an empty cooler with water and let us play in it - we were busy for over an hour. This was probably the only thing that a 1 1/2, 2 1/2 and a 7 year old could all do together, note to self, bring empty cooler on next camping trip.

Roasting marshmallows with Mommy

Hangin' with the boys...

As we were packing up on Monday to head home, Hailey started unpacking all her toys as she was not ready to leave, this is what I found, she had made sure that the entourage all had seats to sit on (books) and books to read.
