So I have to say that I was getting a bit bent out shape over the fact that for the past few months Hailey has only been saying "Da Da". While I was very happy that she loves her daddy so much I was starting to wonder when I would here Mommy.
Well after 18 months of waiting for those precious words, I finally have heard them (all the time, and when she really wants me). Now, she has said "Ma Ma" a few times here and there since she was around 6 months but who knows if she really knew what she was saying or meant.
Nothing compares to hearing your little ones voice squeal "Mommy, Mommy, Mommy" while running down the hall to find you or while sitting at the dinner table during a family meal, or in the car, or while being held, or, or or...
Today also marks the day that she said I love you with out any asks. I said "I love you" when we woke up this morning and she repeated it back. "I wov ou".
Who knew the power of these short and simple words. It truley warms your heart.
There really is something special to being a "Mommy".

Ahhhhhhhhhh...I do remember hearing those words for the first time! Amazing! Tyler was in a reasonable time frame...Makylie took FOREVER! It is hard being a mommy, and you wait so longingly to hear that tiny voice filled with innocence, let you know that you are appreciated...with such simple words. Who knew!
