On Hailey's first half-birthday at 6 months I did an imprint of her foot and hand. It turned out so cute that I wanted to carry on the tradition for her 1 1/2 year birthday. We spend so much time focusing on the yearly miles stones that I wanted to make the half-birthday miles stone just as special.
So this year and every year going forward Hailey and I are going to go to "paint your own" potery studio and paint a piece together with an imprint of her foot and hand. We decided to do "functional" pieces so we don't have just a bunch of plates that we don't use. I have had a hard time over the years being able to pick out serving pieces as I just couldn't decide on style, color etc. With these pieces, it will make each piece very special as Hailey will be the artist and it will be a moment captured in time of how big, or small, she was.
Here are some pictures of our time at the studio last weekend, and us picking up our final artwork today at the Color Me Mine Potery Studio in Mill Creek. The owner, Wendy, was fantastic and super patient with us. She made our visit really special.
