What I have learned about flying with a baby...

1. If you unfortunatly get seated next to a mother and child and the baby falls asleep, lucky for you! But... you are an adult and should be able to control your urge to pee. DO NOT make the mother disrupt the baby so you can use the restroom. This will then give the mother the right to make you incharge of her cranky, sleep deprived child for the remainder of the flight.

2. Bring lots of snacks, bottles of milk, sippy cup of water, extra water, a quite book, extra paci's, a comfi, or other special toy.

3. Use a Baby Bjorn if your child is under 25 lbs. it is like a seat for the baby but they are still sitting on your lap giving you the freedom to have both hands free to play pattycake, peekaboo, and catch flying objects such as paci's, sippycups, bears, books, toys, etc.

4. Do not get to the airport 2 hrs early, this will only ensure that you have lots of extra time to keep your child occupied in a small confined space surrounded by lots of people.

5. There is no need to bring anything to occupy your own time with such as snacks, books, magazines, IPOD, etc. If you are lucky enough for your child to take a nap you will want to go to sleep too. These items will only take up valuable diaper bag space which could be used for additonal items listed in #2.
