Hailey had her 1 year doctor appointment on Tuesday the 14th and she checked out to be just perfect, like we expected anything different :-).
She has an assortment of shorts, 4 pokes, and she did really well. We have a secret, as soon as they poke, I stick a bottle in. Works everytime :-) she is a bit teary, but by the time we head out the room she is totally over it. She ended up with a bit of bruising which was new but they were different shots then she has had before and since there weren't any other side effects we weren't too concerned.
She was pretty tired when we got home and crawled into my lap and fell asleep for a good two hours and even slept really well that night too. It was so nice to just sit and cuddle with her, she doesn't let me do that with her too often since she doesn't fall asleep when I am nursing her anymore so this was a special treat for the both of us :-). The next day she was still a bit tired but by Thursday she was back to her full of energy self. Being tired has been the norm for her after every shot appointment.
She checked out to be in teh 50% percentile in both weight and height which is down a bit from the last appointment where she was in the 75% percentile for weight and the 50th for height. The doctor is very happy with how she has slimmed down (mommy is too). This is mostly due to her expert fast crawling and now walking which she wasn't doing either of at her last check up.
She has pretty much given up on crawling and is now working on running as well as a new word almost every day. I have put a list of all of her words, gestures, meanings and dates to the right to keep record of. All of her developmental milestones are right on track and even a bit early on some.
We are so proud of her and how she is turning into such a fantastic, happy, and energetic toddler and can't wait to see how she changes over the course of the next year.
