A fishing spot - September Park of the week #5

For those who have read our first 4 "Park of the Week" posts - you may be wondering what we are doing over here in the Muchin Household with all these park posts.

Well - Hailey and I love to check out new parks. It is one of the things that we do that encourages a bit of variety as we love searching out new parks and uncovering new and different attributes of each one. As no two parks are alike, and the great State of Washington has hundreds of parks to seek out, we have set off on a year long adventure of journaling our way through the next 52 weeks and discovering 52 new parks along the way. The goal of this activity is to find parks that are great in any season, sun, rain, wind, snow, etc. Our only requirement is that the park must fit with the weather of the day, and be a park that we have not been to.

We are working on a list of criteria for Hailey to rate the parks on a scale of 1-5 stars but for now, enjoy our journey through our notes and pictures.

For the first park of the week in September (Park #5) we wanted to go check out Log Boom Park in Bothell. This park caught my eye as it is a at the very north end of Lake Washington and has a great dock to fish off of and watch the boats and planes in the bay.

Greg came with us and helped Hailey use her fishing pole. She didn't know that you can't catch a fish with a plastic butterfly at first but after the 4th or 5th try, she quickly caught on and lost interest. She then had a snack, we took a family pic and walked to the play ground to check out the toys.

She had a great time watching the kids jump in off the dock and we even got to see a sea plan take off from Kennmore Air. The playground was not the normal playground toys and were a nice change but were a bit too old for her and she was not all that interested in the younger kid toys.
