Riding the Train

Last weekend we FINALLY took the train ride that we have trying to take for the past year. The Snoqualmie to Northbend scenic historic ride from the Snoqulamie Depot was great! We got in the last boxcar which is the most "nostalgic" as my mom says. We got bounced around, wobbled on the benches and felt a few rain drops inside but we had a great time and lots of laughs.

Hailey picked out a couple of train books to read on the trip, Smoky by Bill Peet and The Little Engine That Could, both of which are super cute stories!

When we got to North Bend, we found a cute and yummy restaurant right across the street called the North Bend Bar and Grill where we ducked in out the rain for a bit to eat before we caught the next train back to Snoqualmie to go see the falls. We couldn't see much but it was neat to see them from the top that I have never seen before.

The kids (and Grampa!)  had a great time riding the train and it was so nice to just take a ride on a train for the true and simple pleasure of riding a train!

After our ride, we walked through downtown and found a cute candy shop to have some ice cream. Chew Chews Cafe and Candy. Hailey loved the bar stools and with her in her tu tu dress, it made a pretty cute picture. We also couldn't resist getting a few gummy butterflies for later as a special treat.
