Snowflake Lane, a favorite holiday tradition

One of our most favorite holiday traditions are the weekly visits to Snowflake lane in Bellevue. We try to go once a week during the holiday season as it is Hailey's most favorite thing to do and the best part being it is free. With the exception of dinner that we usually have at Red Robin and the Red Mango yogurt afterwards.

Some people have written about horrible experiences of Snowflake Lane and and I wanted to set the record straight of how to have an enjoyable experience at Snowflake Lane, just follow my directions of how to enjoy it as we have become quite the expert of the past few years.

park over in the parking garage by JCPenny and McDonald's and enter at 2nd level to avoid seeing McDonald's around 5pm as no one ever parks over there. We then go see the reindeer in the sky and do a drive by Santa. Depending on time, we will either go up to the kids cove, Starbucks, or the toy store to burn some time before dinner which we try to be at Red Robin by 530 to avoid the rush of people at 6. We then make sure to be OUT of the restaurant by 645 to hang out and take pictures with the princesses, mouse, polar bear, fairies, etc. We then make sure to get our peppermint "wollypop" and dance with the marrionets until the drummers head down. We DO NOT leave the fountain area no matter what as that is the only place where there is breathing room and dancing room.  We then watch, dance, sing, catch snowflake bubbles, and enjoy the show. Afterwards, we then dance on the drummer stands, finish our "wollypop" and head inside to get warm. It is even more fun when you get to go with a friend or family. (Hailey and Jordyn below)

We have always had a great time, with plenty of room for Hailey to dance in a huge circle of kids with the princess and marionettes.

Between xmas and New Years Snowflake Lane turns into Celebration Lane, we unfortunately did not get a chance to go this year but hope to next year as the music is fun and Hailey loves the horn that they hand out and I love that it is not a "wollypop".

Happy Holidays and here's to 2011
