Our little ballerina

Hailey has taken a liking to ballet and asked about a month ago to sign her up to take lessons. I was pretty much at a loss as I was not a ballet kinda kid :) I started doing some research and asking around as to what to look for and where to go. Since she likes it so much I figured that we would go all out and make sure it was a studio setting with formal instructors and a dress code.

After hours of research, a bit of lost hair, a few wacks at the keyboard, and schedule adjustment, we made the decision to sign her up at the studio about 1/2 mile away from our house on Saturday's. Not the best day but it is nice that it is close.

We picked out a super cute pink leotard, pink skirt, ballet shoes, tap shoes and pink tights. All was specific to color and style... she had so much fun shopping and felt like a big girl.

She talked about it for a week prior, and every time it was mentioned she got the biggest smile on her face and she started bouncing in excitement. (she still does by the way)

Her first day she walked right in, very proud, and listed to the instructor very well. She did follow suit with a few of the younger kids as they started to run around but she quickly realized that was not appropriate behavior.

She was so cute in her little getup and dancing around, the most impressive part though was that she is able to get on the tips of her tip toes and walk around like a real ballerina. We call her our "Golden Ticket" :) I can't get really any pictures of the actual class as they have one way screen on the window so the parents can see in but they kids can't see out. It is pretty hard to take pictures through.

Here are some pics of her on her first day, does this little one look a bit excited or what!
