Last weekend we rode the duck with my Dad, Stepmom and Sister.

We had a lot of fun learning all about Seattle and playing tourist in our own city. I would definitely encourage you to check out this adventure if you haven't already.
The trip started out at the Seattle Center and then takes you on a trip of downtown for about 45 minutes, then you go up Highway 99 to Lake Union for a 30 minute cruise and then head back to the "Duck Nest" to disembark the vessel. It is about a 90 minute narrated tour on a World War II amphibious landing craft that drives on land and floats on water.
You board from the back, sit down, and hold on!

The driver had about 15 different hats that he wore throughout the trip, this one was Hailey's favorite as it was covered in little rubber duckies. He was a character and you could tell that he truly loves what he does as we laughed, sang, clapped, danced and screamed the entire time.

This is where they enter the water on Lake Union, you can see in the middle the Duck that was in front of us. While on the water we saw a Sea Plane land right over us, and the ship that was used in the Pirates of the
Caribbean.
After we got back we made a trip over to Seattle Center to ride some of the kiddie rides that are still there, Auntie Kara took Hailey on her first roller coaster, she wasn't too sure of it as it was going but when she got off, she was all smiles. This picture was taken right as they pulled in at the end of the ride. She then rode the jeep ride all by herself and Grandma Lori took her on flying Dumbo.

After these rides, she of course wanted more, Daddy told her that we were all out of money and that she had to go to work to make money to ride the "horsies". She now talks about how she has to go work to make money so she can ride the "horsies" (carousel) next time. It actually kinda breaks my heart a little to hear by 2 year old say that. Wow they catch on quick! We better watch what we say from now on, or think that we are doing a good thing by teaching her early that money doesn't grow on trees. I haven't figured how which way yet. Right now, she could ask for anything and I would make it happen for her just to see her smile that pretty smile of hers. She is just the sunshine of my day!

To top of our fun filled
morning, as we had done all of this by Noon, we headed down for lunch at the
Spaghetti Factory on the Waterfront and explored the Art garden across the street. Hailey is holding her beloved duck that she got after our trip on the DUCK and has not let go of it since.
