For the chickens

A few weeks ago we had the pleasure of reciprocating a babysitting night for my friend Jeanette and Hailey's buddy Noah (3 1/2).

The kids had a ton of fun doing all sorts of activities and being able to spend the good part of the afternoon and evening together. But the most fun of all was when we went to our neighbors house to check out and feed their 4 chickens.

The kids were hysterical, giggling and laughing the whole time, the chickens ate out of their hands and the kids chased them around the bushes tossing feed at them. A few weeks prior when we went to the Puyallup Spring Fair, Hailey ground up corn for them and she finally got to feed it to them too.

The kids also learned where eggs come from as when we got there there were a few eggs in the hen house that the kids got to fetch and put in their egg carton. They even got to take them home! Another bonus of having neighbors with chickens is that they share :) THANK YOU PORTERS! We love them, and we will have lots of carrots and zucchini this summer to reciprocate.

They then came back inside and started playing wedding party and fire trucks... let the gender differences begin!
