If you ask Hailey what she wants to do, she will mostly likely say "go play toys!" This could mean anything from her kitchen, piano, music instruments, dolls, stuffed animals, balls, books, playdoh, dollhouse/treehouse, etc.
My mom is GREAT!!!! She saved so many of my old toys from when I was growing up and it has been so much fun to pass them down to Hailey and see the same joy in her that I had when I was her age.
When I was pregnant she gave me three boxes of my old special clothes and things for her when she was a newborn, I had no idea that there was going to a round 2 to this exciting time. I don't think of my self as a very sentimental person who gets attached to old things to pass them down. But I am so glad that my mom is :)
We went through my old playroom, that is now my moms office and found all sorts of old games, toys, dolls, etc. I did save one very special doll for her 3rd birthday and that is my old Cabbage Patch Doll. We have been looking all over for it and I finally found it one of the last boxes of stuff that I packed up when I was in highschool to put in storage. It was funny to find that doll mixed in with a bunch of highschool stuff, nonetheless, I am just glad to have found it. My mom found a website on how to restore them and it worked pretty well. I cleaned all the clothes and got it all ready for very special birthday gift.
Some of the other faves were my old roller skates, a SORRY game and my Disney craft books.
Some of the other toys that were accumulated through the visit at my Mom's was a Sensory Garden (container of rice with toys) Hailey calles it her "fancy garden" and a dollhouse with all the accessories that was a great find at the new consignment shop in Woodinville. I have been wanting to get her one as she loves to play pretend but I just couldn't decide on one that was appropriate for her age now as well as one that would grow with her. This one is perfect, it game with all the pieces and hardly cost anything. It was a great step that will last her for a year and I won't feel bad putting this one away when she wants a big girl dollhouse. This one is the Fisher Price My First Dollhouse - PERFECT and super cute!
Hailey is facinating to watch in how she plays, she shares, pretends, loves to learn, is intrigued with how things work, loves to learn from Mommy and Daddy, and has just an amazing imagination. Currently she is starting to group familes together, such as a mommy, daddy and baby. It is pretty cute, today she found her leapfrog caterpiller and her Vtech bug and was walking through the house pulling both of them behind her and told me that the caterpiller was teh baby and the bug was the mommy. Sometimes I have no words for where her imagination takes her.
