As far as January went though, it was pretty busy with something planned every weekend day as well as just Hailey and I taking a trip to the East Coast for work/family visit.
We spent the rest of the month having a few playdates that were way overdue, a few birthdays to attend, and getting caught up from the Holidays.
Hailey has really started to take off in her vocabulary as you can see from her ever growing list of words and gestures. She is learning new words every day and pretty much has a language all her own. We can understand the individual words but the common "phrases" as we call them are pretty much non-understandable at this point.
She started to point at objects as we ask her to "show us the cat, dog, bananna, balloon," etc. Running also became quite popular, sometimes faster then her little legs can keep up, which causes her to fall but she just gets up and keeps on going. She is quite the little trooper. She also continues to crack us up with her dance moves, which when she hears her favorite song, Chicken Fry, by the Zac Brown Band, she wiggles in her car seat smilling and giggling the whole time.
Hailey is also really starting to figure out what she wants and knows how to get it. She is definitely becoming our little toddler. What is really neat to watch though is how curious she is, she pretty much just wants to see and touch the object that you are holding and then she will give it right back. We have figured that if we let her check out the item that she wants it is just enough to make her happy, we then ask her to give it back and she does. She has learned to trust us, and we have shown her that we trust her. Please cross your fingers though that it does not back fire on us.
Something this month that carried over a bit from the previous 3 is her continued love for balloons. She loves to carry them around and bounce them up and down by pulling on the string. Only the basic balloon with do though as we learned from a Super Bowl Mylar balloon from Gramma, hardly any interest in it at all. She also knows that a trip to Bellevue Square on our Tuesday trips to the play area is not complete with out a stop by Nordstrom to pick up her balloon and crayons. This could get quite expensive though as we were 2 for 2 on coming out of there with shoes this month alone.

Her love of books also has really increased, she used to like to flip the pages by herself and look a the pictures but really wouldn't sit very long to read through a whole book in someones lap, except for Goodnight Moon which we read every night. She now will sit in my lap and read through a few of them each night, it has really became our routine, which I absolutely love. I have a feeling though that we are are going to have to put the 5 book limit though in place soon or we could very well be up all night.
I hope everyone has had a great beginning to their New Year and we look forward to seeing or hearing from you soon!
