We left for Maui, Hawaii on Saturday and are having a wonderful time so far. We are all having a great time playing in the sand, swimming around the lagoon pool at the resort, driving around the island, and eating lots of tasty island fare. We stayed at the Sheraton Resort on Ka'anapali Beach.
Sunday we spent time at the pool and took drive around the west end of the island. It was a very nice peaceful drive until the road turned into a one lane road which was very whindy (a bit treacherous at times I might add) after we got back we all went for a dip in the lagoon pool, it is a pretty neat pool that wraps around the resort, Hailey had a blast buzzing around in her swim ring and playing with all the kids. We then hung out at the beach for a few hrs and watched the nightly torch lighting and cliff diving ceremony. We won't even mention where we ate today, not even worthy of words.
Monday we went to Makena Beach (the beach where Hailey was named after) then spent a bit of time in Kihei which is where we stayed a few years back last time we were here and ate at our favorite lunch spot, the Big Wave Cafe. When we got back Hailey and I went for a dip in the pool, later in the evening we went for dinner to Bumba Gump Shrimp and walked through the town of Lahaina and ended our day with an ice cream cone.

Tuesday was a fun filled day of nothing but hanging out at the resort. We pretty much spent the whole day at the beach starting at 8 am until about 4 with a short break for a nap for Hailey and a quick dip in the pool. We rented a shade lounge which was the only way that we were able to get Greg down there all morning. I snorkeled and swam with a few turtles which was really neat to see them in the wild like that and just swim right up to you. For dinner we walked down to the Wharf and ate at Hula Girl restaurant which was right on the ocean.
Today we took a day trip to the town of Hana, it was a long car ride along a very whindy road with about 600 turns and 59 one lane brides. (it doesen't even compare though to the one lane road that we drove on on Sunday) One way is about 3 hrs but it is only a distance of about 50 miles. We thought that there would be a bit more to see on the way and especially when we arrived but there really is only a general store, thrift store of "Hawaiian Treasures" and the Ranch Restaurant which was were we ate lunch which was surprisingly good considering that we were so far out in the middle of nowwhere. We left around 8 am but still made it back in time to take a dip in the pool and then see the nightly torch lighting for our last night here. Tomorrow we head to Honolulu, Oahu where we will be spending 3 days on Waikiki beach.
More updates to come...
