California Beach Day - October Park of the Week #1 - Laguna Beach

I had to go - I am a huge Laguna Beach/The Hills fan so it was only appropriate to hit the beach for a day since we were so close, 30 min away with no traffic that is. Thank goodness we went on a weekend as I have heard that the CA traffic can get pretty ugly. 

We also go to keep up with our Park of the week while we were in CA so this is kinda a combo blog post.

We met up with Brian and Kerry in the AM on Sunday, had breakfast at the hotel and then headed to the Beach. On the way, Hailey spotted this giant pumpkin sitting on a roof top and started freaking out - we all thought it was pretty funny and was pretty much the first time I realized that it was now fall. Pretty funny that we were actually headed to the beach and the weather was practically 90 degrees.

The town was totally not what I expected but it was pretty cool to be there and see the beautiful houses up on the hill overlooking the beach. We took a drive to the top and the boys just had to get a picture in front of the high school. Greg also found a hill that he had fun taking the rental down, thank goodness we didn't bottom out on the bottom but I think Kerry almost lost her lunch.

Playing at the beach was great - it was a nice white sand beach with moderate waves for Hailey to play in as  long as she was holding someones hand.

She had a great time playing in the sand and loved getting buried. I also finally found her a cute little sun hat that she kept on. Unfortunately all the pictures were taken before I found it.

After playing in the sand and water, we went to check out the toys, they were great! The play area was all sand and the toys were like a maze that she had fun running around on. While we were up playing at the toys, a huge tree fell just up the beach. Thankfully, no one was hurt, it looked like it came close to taking out a homeless man, but he didn't look hurt, just a bit shaken up.

We then realized that we were all starting to crash and found a great pizza place right on the beach, BJ's. After lunch, we found the BEST candy store and had a great time picking out taffy. Who can resist picking out taffy at the beach!  

It was a great beach day in October!
