Puyallup Spring Fari 2011

Since Greg was working weekends during the month of April, I asked my stand in husbands to escort Hailey and I to the Puyallup Spring Fair. Gamma and Grampa Dexter were more than willing to join us as they did on a few adventures during the month. We just love the Spring Fair, it is much smaller, less people, the weather is perfect and it is great for little ones.

Grampa Dexter had his hip replaced in February and we were very lucky that he was felling up to join us and he did fantastic. It was Hailey that was having the issues. We had planned the entire weekend around going to the fair to the point where we spent the night at my mom’s the night before. She woke up super hot in the AM but said she was fine so we figured that it was just warm in the house and since she was sleeping in between my mom and I, she just slept hot. She didn’t show any signs of illness but was very quiet all the way down to Puyallup. She also didn’t eat much. We kept asking her if anything hurt and she just kept saying no and that she was fine. She was just not the normal up beat Hailey so we were concerned. We figured that we would just go for as long as she would last and check it out. We also brought the stroller just as a precaution.

Well, she was doing great, just quiet and mellow. Not what I expected at the fair. She also kept her hands clenched together the whole time unless she was holding something or doing an activity.

She had a great time at the kids place getting her face painted, touching and looking at the animals, grinding corn, planting a pumpkin (last year, this was the seed that actually sprouted a pumpkin too) and doing a may basket.

She then got her cotton candy and we headed over to go see the animals and ended with rides and some lunch. She didn’t eat a bite of it and proceeded to crawl into the stroller and almost go to sleep. That was when we said it was time to leave the fair. She fell asleep about 5 minutes later :)

The next day at Gamma’s it was discovered that she had a sliver in the palm of her hand that had turned into a blister… she was not sick, her hand just hurt. Poor baby!
