Sledding at Happy Trails

One of the winter activities that I was determined to do this year was go sledding at Happy Trails in Cle Elum. Our very good friends heard about this fun adventure and it sounded like so much fun! A horse drawn sleigh ride to the sledding hill with heated tents, camp fires, stoves, picnic tables, and chairs. What a great family day I thought so I tried to rally a few different groups to go but with no luck. Yes, I do still love you all family, you just all MISSED OUT! HA!  We decided to go as just our little family of 3 and had the best time. This day finally came after rescheduling 5 times, and unfortunately the snow was not the best but we did not let that stop us.

We were the first ones to show up so we took out time getting all of our snow gear on and a couple of bags packed up with food and treats to head out for the day. The sleigh ride was fun, super smooth and very winteresc through the woods with bells. Next year we are going to go before Christmas in late December when there is hopefully a bit more snow.

Once we got to the sledding hill, we were set up with our tent and a place to put our stuff. We then hit the slopes. We stopped here and there to have lunch, roast a marshmallow, fall in the mud, etc. We spent most of the time sledding and taking a nice stroll on the snow showing trail. We also got to feed apples to the 23 horses that are on the property.

Hailey made a friend with a cute little girl named Lucy that we were chatting about exchanging contact information with but forgot to before we both drove off.

ll in all, it was the PERFECT day and will most definitely be added to our fun list of Holiday traditions.

SOO cute - I honestly don't know where you find these cool activities to do. You are right, it looks fun enough to where I might rethink being against it. Glad it all worked out - I love the picture of Hailey on the sled, that might be your contact pic in my phone ;)
