Bathroom Remodel Complete!

For those of you who have been to our house, you have probably been attacked while walking down the hall to use the main bathroom. We have tried to not allowed people into our main bathroom for quite some time do the state it was in. The previous owners did a shoddy job when they replaced it the year before we moved in and we have been needing to replace it for the past few years. The time finally came where the faucet in the tub was continually dripping (pouring) hot water and we couldn't wait any longer. About a year ago we purchased everything for the project with the exception of the tile. It was a matter of getting organized and figuring out a good time to ask Gampa Dexter :) for help.

Here Hailey is taking her last bath in the old bathroom - this is as close as I will come to posting pictures of it how it looked prior to the remodel :)

Just over 4 weeks ago, Hailey and I packed up and moved in with my Mom while we were under contruction. We had so much fun on very little sleep and my car didn't even time to warm up on my drive to work as it was only 3 minutes away. That was GREAT! It was sad to leave on a week ago as after 3 weeks we had really become quite accustomed to our living arrangements and having Grandma with us all time. It was so much fun having girl night every night and letting Hailey sleep in every morning until she felt like getting us. Hailey was also quite spoiled, as I had mommy guilt of not being home and not seeing her Daddy. She didn't balk much as we pulled out many of my old toys, bought some new ones and went on lots of adventures around Bellevue. More to come in a later post!
This was quite a major overhaul as it was pretty much gutted down to the studs, I thought it would be a bit worse but it turned out to only have water damage under the tub. We replaced EVERYTHING with the exception of the light fixture, I kinda liked it and it fit well. It was the only thing that did not hit the trash :)
I must say, whoever designed it, kinda knew what they were doing ;) Bewtween 3 seperate buying trips, the tub and shower door purchased by Greg, tile picked out the day before the project started without thinking to look at what we picked out the year prior and the paint discussed over the phone, it all came together quite nicely.

I WILL NOT post any other pictures of what it looked like before but here is our new bathroom. It is gorgeous and we are so happy with how it turned out. A HUGE thank you to Dexter for doing the work and to my mom for putting up with your visitors for 3 weeks. We can't wait to do it again soon.

The best part of it all was that they had to go through Hailey's room to get the tub in through a 4 foot x 3 foot hole in her closit. Thank god I didn't see that in person, I just had to hang all her clothes up when we got back :) This picture is looking into the bathroom through her closit.

Greg also got to use some of his creative skills and build a makeshift shower in the backyard with our hot tub cover, patio umbrella, and a garden hose. What a guy! I do need to get my hands on those pictures as I never saw it in person or have seen the pictures.

So, the next time you are over you will now be allowed to use the bathroom ;)

By the way, a quick shout out for Dexter, he is for hire! If anyone needs any type of remodel, let me know and I will pass on his contact info.
