We had Hailey's two year Dr Appt last week and she is doing great. Super healthy, and has surpassed all of the developmental milestones.
She is smack dab in the middle for growth, 50th percentile in height and weight, and 35th for head. The Dr is very pleased with her temperament and said that she was the best 2 year old that she has ever had to exam. Hailey was so patient and interested in what Dr Platzner was doing, it was quite cute to watch. We brought baby Alla in for her to be examined too and Hailey had a great time trying to see if she had any reflexes. She got a Dr Kit today with one of her birthday gift cards and I am sure that Baby Alla will have many more checkups in the near future.
Here is mom's spot to gloat :)
Hailey is above average in her speech as she will repeat anything and can string 6 + word sentences together. She is fully immersed in pretend play and loves to ensure that her baby Alla is well cared for. She got a play kitchen from Gamma for her birthday (birthday post to come soon) and will wake up and ask to "pay wit kitchen tuff" before she will even eat her breakfast. She is aware of "where things are like, over there, under there, in there, etc and knows all her ABC's and can count to 11. She is starting to really know all her colors, and can recognize all by pointing if asked and she will point to a few of the colors and say what it is on her own. She knows all of her basic shapes, star, square, heart, circle, triangle, rectangle and is starting to figure out the tougher ones with her new wood shape sorter that has 15 different shapes from Great Gramma and Grampa. She loves to show off her creative skills and paints pictures for us daily with her water colors on her new art easel from Grandma Linda and Grampa George.
Preschool is going EXTREMELY well and she is the first one to run into the preschool room when it is time. She loves showing off her daily creations to me when I pick her up and our fridge has turned into her display wall. She is also singing many songs from memory and I will catch her as she is playing in the bath or playing by herself just singing away. I have tried to get it on video but have been unsuccessful as she WILL NOT do it on command. :)
We have truly enjoyed every single minute of these past 2 years and cannot believe how fast they have gone. We so look forward to many more adventures and watching her develop and master many new skills.
Thank you to everyone that has been a part of our family, it absolutely takes a village to raise a child. You all have been apart of our lives in so many wonderful ways and we love you more then you will ever know.
Here is to potty training, a big girl bed, bye-bye paci, and full conversations that will include the word "why"!
