On Friday we tidied up the bank in the backl yard by trimming the cascadingground cover with purple flowers that hangs over the bank, prunning my lilac that I thought was a dogwood until it bloomed for the fist time this year and moving the large Rhody to the back of the bank and removing another as the three that were there were really starting to take over.
On Saturday, I prunned all the bushes in the front yard, 4 to be exact, and weeded the front and back yard. I also wrote out my list of what I needed to pick up at my dad's nursery on Sunday.
On Sunday, we picked up the car load of perenialls, as I am not a fan of annuals. I have a hard time finding the point as you just have to redo it again next year. :) I did pick up three annuals for a pot though. I was able to plant all 15 or so plants while Hailey took a nice long 2 hour nap. When she woke up, we went and planted about 30 little starts that I found under one of our hedges in the front yard along the fence in the back. This is when she figured out it was much more fun to hang with mommy if she had her own shovel and pail.

We then called it quits for the yard, we feel quite accomplished and proud of our work. We have a few more items on our plan for the porch area in the front and then our work will really get tough when we tackle the lower part of the lot to make way for our vegtable garden and a play area for next year. There is a lot of work ahead, and hopefully a lot of nice weather to go with the three months to do it in.

Super cute. Love when the weather gets nice and we can take the kids out and do that kind of work. Plus, it really tires them out!
