Nightime routine

So I figured that I would post a blog about how our nights go. It really hasn't changed much over the past year, except for how particular she has become. It sure is funny how she has gotten into a rhythm and how all hell breaks loose if we fall out of sync. Can I say OCD....

1. We start off by saying is it time for a ni ni bath? She must say yes and head down the hall or I have a fight.
2. We must turn on the water first and fill the tub, then it is ok to go take clothes off.
3. I must see her run down the hall naked to the bath, which she goes directly too the bathroom though sometimes stopping for a moment to pee on the floor, but will end up at the bathtub and await me to lift her in to her tub. (I find the naked tushey running down the hall the cutest thing in the world!)
4. She must have a small washcloth "towel", ducky, cup with a handle, sometimes ba and paci "pow" in the bath with her, as well as her basket of toys within reach or she will climb out to get them.
5. She then plays for a bit with bath crayons, blows bubbles, squirts herself with her squirty toys, plays with mommy, etc.
6. Mommy then washes her face and Hailey follows along with the face mimicks and wiping her face with the washcloth.
7. I then have to ask her if she is ready for "soap-soap" again, she must say "soap- soap" to proceed.
8. After we soap down, she then has to say "ah done" so I know that she is ready to get out. Sometimes I have to ask her or she will turn into a prune as she could stay in the tub all night.
9. We then towel off, say "ni ni" to "Hayee" in the mirror and head to her room.

Now this is where the fun begins...

10. Before I can get a diaper on her, she must stand on the dresser that is adjacent to her changing table, reach for everything in sight and pick out a few must haves to play with. These could be anyting such as diaper cream, vaseline, lids to containers, nasel aspirator, you get the drift. She also has to turn on the diaper warmer light.
11. After I get a diaper and lotion on, we have to pick out new must haves along with pitching a fit if what she wants is not there or I don't give her enough time to pick something out. Meanwhile she is wiggly and one or two must haves end up on the floor.
12. We then get a onsie and jammies on in relativly good time, but she must stand and grab my shoulder and say "shoder" so she can put her feet in.
13. After all of this funness, we then run out to give Daddy a kiss goodnight and sometimes watch "choo choos" on the computer with Daddy.
14. Mommy then has to pry her away from Daddy. She is usually a good girl and gives Daddy a good night kiss, blows a kiss, and waves bye-bye then heads down the hall to her room.
15. We then pick out anywhere from 2-10 books to read depending on what time it is.
16. After we sit down in the rocking chair with Ba, Paci, a blanket, our assortment of books, she decides that she wants a different blanket and one of her other bears. Where is mommy supposed to sit?...we somehow manage.
17. After all books are read, we cuddle in the rocking chair, sometimes playing butterfly kisses, until she is almost asleep and this is when I realize it is all worth it.
18. I then lay her in her bed, turn on her musical aquarium, kiss her goodnight, wish her sweet dreams, she asks for another kiss, rolls over onto her side, shuts her eyes and I tuck in the blanket.
19. As I stand in the doorway watching her drift off into sleep, I think to myself, I can't wait to do it again tomorrow.
20. She then wakes up around 2 in the morning and wants to jump in bed with us. Lucky for us, she just falls instantly back to sleep. (I secretly love this part though)

Night-night Hailey, sweet dreams my little Angel.
