Hailey has a small picnic table set up in our living room that has crayons, a notebook and stickers always ready for doodling. She loves to sit there and put her artistic skills to use. This was an Xmas present from Daddy and me and was definatly worth it.
Right after we set it up (she was about 15 months) I took out the white cup and put her crayons in it to keep them from rolling on to the floor. A few days later she went to our tupperware cubard and took our a small plastic dish and put a few other crayons in it. (I thought that this was amazing!) It is the blue one in the middle and has been there ever since.

Well today, she found a new pack of restaurant crayons that were in my diaper bag from a recent dinner outing. She proceeded to unwrap them, yes unwrap and I had a pile of carboard pieces in the playroom. She then went to her tupperware drawer, took out a yogurt cup, put her crayons in it and placed them on the table. (the cup on the right side) She then sat at the table and started to color.
Later this evening we were playing outside and she brought out a few toys and one of her plastic buckets from her shelving unit. We were laughing and singing songs in the grass when she decided that she was ready to go inside. I sat up and just watched her for a bit, boy am I glad I did once again today. She walked up to the deck, picked up her plastic lipstick and braclet, walked over to her plastic bucket, put them inside, picked up the other couple toys that were on the bench, put them inside, picked up the plastic bucket and took it all in the house. She didn't even miss a toy. While she was doing this, she was chanting, "ahh keen, ahh keen, ahh keen" (All Clean). I wasn't sure where she picked that up but then when I said it outloud I realized that I say it alot. Bathtime, in the kitche, picking up toys, doing laundry, pretty much anytime I am doing housework and she is with me helping.
I watched in awe as she completed both of these tasks today. It is just amazing to watch them develop and learn new skills. It was pretty impressive to see all the steps that took place for her to complete her first "all by myself" accomplishments. I am so proud of her for all that she is learning and doing, and the look on her face when I tell her this multiple times a day takes my breath away.
